Dr. Carl Lund

Carl LundCarl Lund was born in Philadelphia, grew up near Norristown, PA and moved to Muncy, PA, where, in 1972, he graduated from Muncy High School. He continued his education at Purdue University (Boiler Up!) where he earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1976. After a summer's work experience at Mobil in Paulsboro, NJ, he started graduate school in Chemical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin (On Wisconsin!). With Jim Dumesic's guidance, he specialized in heterogeneous catalysis, earning a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1981. Upon graduation he accepted a position at the Exxon Corporate Research Labs, and worked there for five years. In 1986 Dr. Lund moved to Buffalo, NY, and ever since he has worked at U.B., known to most outsiders as SUNY-Buffalo (Horns Up!). He is now a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in Chemical and Biological Engineering and the chair of the newly formed Department of Engineering Education. Additional information can be found in his cv or on his ResearcherID, ORCHID ID or Google Scholar pages.
