Accessing Microsoft Windows Via VMware

1. On the task bar on the bottom of your screen:

   

   ...click on the "Windows XP" button that looks like this:

   

2. A window will pop up that looks like this:

   

   Click on the green arrow button.

   Windows XP will begin booting in the virtual machine.

   

3. After the virtual machine is booted, the window will look like this:

   

   Note that your mouse cursor looks like a black arrow when it is over any of the Linux / Gnome desktop and a little white hand when it is over the VMWare / Windows XP window. Click on the VMWare / Windows XP window so that the mouse cursor looks like a white arrow. Press the CTRL, ALT, and DELETE keys simultaneously. The window should then look like this:

   

   Enter your UBITname and your engineering password to log in.

4. You are now ready to use the Windows XP operating system and software.
