The Buffalo Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) was founded in 1921, and through the years it has played an important role in the engineering community. We are located in Zone 1 of the geographic subdivision of ASCE, representing a membership of over 500 civil engineers and engineering students in and around the Western New York area, including the counties of Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany in New York State. The Buffalo Section is a member of the ASCE New York State Council and Technical Societies Council of the Niagara Frontier (TSC). The Buffalo Section offers continuous support of the local engineering community. We strive for the advancement of the science and profession of civil engineering through education.

- Project Title: Conference Mobile App - ASCE Multi-Region Leadership Conference (MRLC)
- Project Background
On February 9th and 10th of 2018, the MRLC for Regions 1, 2, 4 & 5 of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is being held in Buffalo at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This conference is the leadership conference the students of ASCE typically go to (it also includes over 200 professionals and younger members). This conference also consists of a Thursday afternoon/evening tour and social, Friday evening hor d'oeuvres with mixer, and Saturday evening awards dinner.
Developing a general use app for this conference. If the app is not completed on time, prepare a presentation on lessons learned and other potential uses for the app. This presentation to be given at the conference itself to some of the student and Younger Member (30 and under) attendees. - Expected Deliverables
App: 1. A home screen with tabs and or icons. 2. These icons should be separate pages including: Social Media (links to Facebook and Instagram with the corresponding #'s), Sponsors (sponsor logos, levels and links to their companies), VIP/Speaker Biographies, Conference Program, and Misc. Handouts/Materials 3. A map of the conference with pop ups or bubbles of events in each room/area. 4. Activity tabs with a link and image for popular food, drink, and other Buffalo specific attractions.

Oct. 31st - General App outline and framework complete December 4th - App Complete, bug testing and layout review/revisions January 22nd - Field Test February 5th - App goes Live
