Since being apart of SHPE I have been able to network with companies such as IBM and have become knowledgeable on the necessity of minorities in Corporate America. This organization has helped me in becoming the professional that I aspire to be.

Ultimately, I would like to become a Project Manager of a computer based organization where I would lead a group in web designing or graphic designs for companies such as Paxar. I would like to be hired in a company that leaves room for growth, allows for me to expand my skills and is accessible to gaining higher positions. 
SHPE with a large network of companies will help anyone who seeks to become a professional with the endless amount of internship opportunities like it has done for me.

Angela Nunez

I was born in Peru, and I came to live to Astoria, Queens back in January of 1999. After high school I went to SUNY Farmingdale for Aviation Science and then in January of 2004 I transfer to UB.

In the summer of 2004 once I started attending the meetings I realized the great potential that this organization has. As an engineer student I felt that we needed to be more "academically" involved on campus, which is one of our official goals.

Right now I am a mechanical and aerospace dual engineering major so I tend to be very busy all the time, which is good, boredom tend to make people do very stupid things.

I have been involved in SHPE for many years, and I have learned so much since my first meeting. I started as a member but over the years I held different E-board positions. Currently I am Vice president and the experience of being part of this organization has been fruitful. My goal for this year is to become involved on campus and bring SHPE to its full potential.

I was born and raised in Serbia arriving in U.S. on January of 1998 escaping a war torn country in search of a better life and opportunities. Upon arrival I was hit with a huge culture gap which made me adjust very quickly and allowed me to focus on my school and social life. Currently I am aiming to receive a dual major diploma from University at Buffalo for Computer and Electrical Engineering which would help me further my pursuit of happiness.

My family has brought me up as a determined, dedicated and disciplined individual which is exactly what I am planning to bring to SHPE as its 2007-2008 Treasurer. My goal for this year is to ensure that SHPE increases its influence not only on Hispanic population but on all in UB and to strongly establish itself as an organization which helps motivate, educate and prepare its members for the “real world”.

I love being an engineer because of the simple fact that you have a chance to actually see your progress in your work with your own eyes. You have the chance to build things that are a hundred times your size. That fact about the field fascinates me. I am also a person that loves change. Every day you come into work, you are not working under the same conditions. Every day is a new task, a new obstacle to conquer.

Hi my name is Karent Mogro.  I am a New York native; my parents are originated from Ecuador.  I am a senior; I will be graduating next semester with a bachelor in Health and Human Service, concentration in Early Childhood.  With this degree I plan to work as a Case manager.
