Lisa Stephens, PhD serves as Senior Strategist for Academic Innovation for the SUNY Office of the Provost. Her portfolio includes Program Manager of the Innovative Instruction Technology Grant (IITG) initiative to support the Chancellor's Open SUNY strategic plan, the Open SUNY Coursera initiative, and FLEXspace (Flexible Learning Environments eXchange) an open education repository project which has expanded to over 2,600+ users from 1,200+ educational institutions across 42 countires. Lisa is a member and past-chair of the SUNY Faculty Advisory Council on Teaching & Technology (FACT2) and continues to play a support role for strategic and operational projects at the University at Buffalo's Office of the VP and CIO. She is the elected co-chair of the UB Faculty Senate Teaching & Learning Committee, and maintains an adjunct faculty appointment in the UB Department of Communication. Research interests include administrative choice of technology adoption, with publications in EDUCAUSE Quarterly, a number of popular trade magazines, the Encyclopedia of Distance and Online Learning, the College and University Media Review, and various presentations and research reports. For several years, she managed the UB’s Distance Education and Videoconference Operations unit. Lisa holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration (University at Buffalo), an MS in Television, Radio and Film (S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications - Syracuse University) and a BFA in Communication Design (Rochester Institute of Technology).
