What is Bot Wars?

Bot Wars is a competition at UB that is held during Engineer's Week in which all the engineering clubs build a battle bot and compete against each other. The competition is very similar to those seen on TV. The annual competition is usually held on a Friday and it takes place in the Student Union.

If this competition interests you and you want to be apart of the project, please contact us.

2009 Design

This year we came in First Place in the Bot Wars compitition, beating out the long running winner, SAE, in the finals. Using a very similar robot as last year, an angled helicopter blade being our main weapon and defence. With an upgraded steel frame, we were able to take the victory with a few battle scars to show for it.

2007 Design

This years newly designed robot introduced some never before seen design concepts to UB Bot Wars. The robot cost over $1,200 to build and it wouldn't have been possible without the help of our sponsors. This years sponsors specific to our bot wars project included Fisher Price, GM, Sagentia, Sunstone Circuits, and a fifth sponsor that wishes to remain anonymous. We thank them for their support.

    2006 Design

"Reaper" as it is now nicknamed, debuted in 2006 but made a return in the 2007 competition with a 2nd place finish. This robot did well over the years, but "Reaper" has now been retired from battle.
