The Informed Design Cycle

4. Choose and justify optimal design

New information from research and investgation and from KSB activities will give you more experience and a deeper understanding that will allow you to rethink previous ideas. The design cycle approach encourages systematic evaluation of the alternatives generated by brainstorming. Using the problem solving matrix, the best solution for that cycle can be pursued. The matrix allows you to organize the decision making process. By documenting the process, the matrix leaves a trail of ideas. If a potential solution proves unworkable, you can always return to the matrix and pick the next highest ranked idea.
