Center for Advanced Photonic and Electronic Materials (CAPEM)
The Center for Advanced Photonic and Electronic Materials (CAPEM) was formed to foster interactions and collaboration among the diverse research and development activities at the University at Buffalo in the areas of photonic and electronic materials, and to facilitate cooperative multidisciplinary activities and multi-investigator research projects.
Center for Cognitive Science
The Center promotes the development of research networks and of new research activities in cognitive science, both locally and across institutions.
Center for Computational Research (CCR)
The mission of CCR is to support research in high-performance computing and visualization; to foster industrial partnerships in high-performance computing and visualization; to serve the Western New York community in terms of Education, Outreach, and Training in areas that are mutually compatible; and to work with the leadership of the University to improve the national reputation of UB.
Institute for Lasers, Photonics and Biophotonics (ILPB)
The mission of the Institute for Lasers, Photonics and Biophotonics is to conduct research and development of new materials and technologies; to provide education and industrial training for developing a skilled workforce; and, to aggressively market a world-class facility for consulting and testing in the State of New York at the University at Buffalo and affiliated partnerships.
National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA)
The NCGIA is an independent research consortium whose primary mandate is to conduct basic research in geographic information science and its related technology.
Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (STOR)
The University at Buffalo Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (STOR) promotes the development and transfer of technology, innovations and expertise from the university to the marketplace, spurring the establishment and growth of new business enterprises.

Calspan UB Research Center, Inc.
Calspan-UB Research Center, Inc. (CUBRC) is a strategic partnership whose mission is to bring together scientists and engineers from academia and industry to provide the synergism to expand the research capabilities of all, and to provide significant technological and economic growth in Western New York.
