Description: Works under the supervision
of the Team Leader of the Environmental Engineering Section.
Assignments are given both verbally and
written through the Section Team Leader but may be monitored and
tracked by other section staff members. Considerable guidance and
observation may be required, depending on the nature of the
assignment.
Work Assignments are generally selected to
utilize existing technical accuracy and adherence to instructions
skills, and completed work is checked for technical accuracy and
adherence to instructions and guidance.
1. Gathers, compiles and reduces
environmental data.
2. Data input, coding, digitizing and
formatting
3. Performs limited evaluations and
assists with environmental report writing.
4. Performs routine analytical procedures,
produces visual aids and generates project management reports using
both commercial and Corps of Engineers software programs.
5. Assist in environmental field
investigations
6. Assist in preparing for contractor
negotiations
Qualifications/Skills: Must be an
engineering student preferably undergraduate. Looking for Chemical
or Environmental
Organization Profile: Buffalo District is
part of the US Army Corps of Engineers the largest engineering and
construction agency in the world. Buffalo District is responsible
for design and construction of water resources projects (flood
control, coastal, navigation, etc.) environmental restoration
(chemical and radioactive waste, brownsfield, etc.) Great Lakes
water management and regulation of work in waterways and wetlands.
