Alan J. Rabideau is currently Associate Professor of Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering at the State University of New York at Buffalo . Dr. Rabideau received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame (1979), an M.Eng. in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1986), and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1994). While a graduate student at SUNY Buffalo, he co-authored the feasibility study that led to the formation of the New York State Center for Hazardous Waste Management. Prior to and during his doctoral studies, he worked as a consulting engineer with O'Brien & Gere Engineers, Inc. on a variety of environmental projects, during which time he acquired his Professional Engineer license. He joined the SUNY Buffalo faculty in 1993. Dr. Rabideau's current teaching responsibilities include several courses in environmental engineering, with an emphasis on groundwater engineering. Current research interests include the mathematical modeling of flow and reactive contaminant transport in groundwater, subsurface remediation, and decision and risk analysis for environmental systems.
