Manufacturing Update [13. Feb. 2009 - 23:27]
Manufacturing Update
The manufacture of UBMS09 is well under way. Our chassis is 90% complete, probably the most rigorous part of the build.
The team designed a custom jig table which was manufactured at Custom Laser Inc., while the frame tubing was cut and notched by Cartesian Tube. These processes made it possible to almost completely assemble and weld the frame in 3 days. A very special thanks to Lee Mcelhnney for donation of his welding expertise and time.
UBFSAE PLACES 18TH AT MIS [24. May. 2008 - 09:20]
UB FSAE Finished 18th Overall
105 of 120 teams competed in this years event at the Michigan International Speedway, of which the University at Buffalo took 18th place. This is the third best showing in University history.
The event at Michigan, described as the "Super Bowl" of Formula SAE, is one of the more renown collegiate competitions in the world. The event hosted teams from Germany, Japan, Korea, China, Australia, India, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Austria, and others.
UB Motorsports also took home three additional awards; 2nd place in Fuel Economy, 3rd place for excellence in Powertrain Development, and a certificate of accomplishment. The certificate holds special significance in this competition as it is given only to teams which score points in every event. Only 35 of the 105 competing teams completed the event this year.

UBMS 08 PLACES 9th at VIR
The University at Buffalo Society of Automotive Engineers Formula Team has completed its first competition since 2004. The team roared to the finish line with a 9th place overall standing at Virginia International Raceway this past week out of 43 registered teams.
