Above are 5 movies of the reconstructed velocity field after application of the POD to the 138 point velocity measurements in the Citriniti experiment. You can choose which movie you wish to play by clicking on any of the icon images.

The first link on the left will play a movie of the streamwise velocity directly out of the 138 hot-wire anemometer probes. The second link from the left plays the movie of the POD reconstructed velocity using the first radial POD mode and all azimuthal Fourier modes. Movies to the right remove unimportant azimuthal modes to educe a clearer picture of the structure. Note that the local mean velocity is subtracted off in these movies.
