20th Anniversary --- 1978 - 1998

Reunion and Celebration on November 20th,1998

Twenty years ago in 1978 the Turbulence Research Laboratory of the University at Buffalo was born. Since then it has grown both in size and staff, has achieved international stature, and has made substantial contributions to both the University at Buffalo and the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. More than 50 M.S. and Ph.D. students have graduated from the Turbulence Research Laboratory and many more students in the Fluid/Thermal Sciences have participated in its activities. Therefore we are taking special note of this landmark by inviting you to return for a reunion and celebration. The invitation has been extended to all MS and Ph.D. graduates who we can identify as having been associated with the Fluid/Thermal Sciences part of the department.

The festivities are scheduled for Friday, November 20, 1998, 1:00 - 8:30 p.m. , and will be held at the Katherine Cornell Theatre on the North Campus of the University at Buffalo. They include a mini-symposium titled "Turbulence for the New Millenium" with renowned speakers from the U.S. and Europe, followed by a reception. You are also invited to attend the First Annual UB Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Alumni/Faculty Breakfast on Saturday, November 21, 1998, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., at the University Inn.

We and our colleagues are looking forward to seeing you in November.

Sincerely,

William K. George, Director, Turbulence Research Laboratory

Christina L. Bloebaum, Chair, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
