The Photofunctional Materials Laboratory is focused on development, synthesis, and characterization of novel photofunctional materials. Specifically, we will be looking at immobilizing photoactive compounds on a variety of supports, from silica supports to more flexible polymeric materials. The end application of these materials will be wastewater treatment, energy generation, biomaterials (anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti-bacterial agents), and in small molecule transformations (for example, pharmaceuticals).This site is still under construction, check back for updates.
