Course Objectives/Outcomes

This course is intended to provide engineers and construction managers with the latest principles and techniques for managing a construction project, enhancing proficiency in this critical aspect of construction management.  Students will develop an improved understanding of important professional practice issues such as: procurement of work, bidding versus quality based selection processes, and how design professionals and the construction professions interact to construct a project. The ability to identify and solve problems is gained through the text, real world applications and the class project.  The project and accompanying presentations stress the ability to communicate effectively and work in multi-disciplinary teams while interacting with construction industry professionals.
