
Charles M. Fogel received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Physics from the University of Buffalo. He joined the faculty of the Physics Department of the University of Buffalo in 1941. From 1944-46, he was a research engineer at the National Union Radio Corporation, but returned to the university in 1946 to join the newly-established School of Engineering as Assistant Dean.
Professor Fogel has filled a number of university-wide administrative assignments in the past three decades. He was Director of the University Industrial Liaison Office, Director of the Division of General and Technical Studies, Special Assistant to the President, Assistant Executive Vice President, Active Executive Vice President, and Acting Dean of the Graduate School.
At present he is a Professor of Civil Engineering and the Director of the Industrial Liaison Office of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, which serves as the vital link between industry and the university.
In addition to his university assignments, Professor Fogel is a member of the Board of Directors of Rotary International for 1982-84.
